The LEAD Russian Language Platform Announcements List

LEAD-RLP-ANNOUNCE-L is the main dissemination list, in English, of the LEAD (Livestock, Environment And Development) Russian platform.

The purpose of this list is to distribute general announcements related to the work of the LEAD Russian Language Platform in the CIS countries and Mongolia. Members of this LEAD list will receive information on current news and events, latest studies and publications, activities of the LEAD initiative, upcoming seminars and conferences on the livestock and environment issues.

Every 3 months a newsletter focussing on LEAD relevant issues will be distributed among the members of this List.

Welcome to the LEAD Russian Language Platform Announcements List. Finding a balance between the fast growing demand for animal products and the need to sustain the natural resource base of land, water, air and biological diversity is one of today's most crucial agricultural dilemmas. Focusing on livestock production, which often has been associated with important negative environmental effects, the work of the Livestock, Environment and Development (LEAD) Initiative centres on how to alleviate the negative and enhance the positive impact of livestock on the environment and thereby contribute to sustainable use of the natural resource base.
