The Livestock, Environment and Development LEAD Initiative focus on the protection and enhancement of natural resources as affected by livestock production while alleviating poverty. To promote multidisciplinary research and development activities and increase awareness among key stakeholders of the complex interaction of human needs, animal production and the sustainability of global natural resources, the LEAD Initiative has assembled a Virtual Research and Development Centre. The Research Network of the LEAD Virtual Centre is a novel structure that allows scientists from different disciplines, and in different parts of the world to work together under one system to achieve a common research goal.
