Activity 5: Provision of Decision-Support Tools

The following analytical tools will be provided:

  • economic analysis of profitability of land use under extensive and intensive modes of production
  • social impact analysis tools
  • cost-effectiveness analysis for policy options
  • a customised carbon flux model for the farms operating under the scheme
  • an economic profitability analysis at farm and national level
  • a cost-effectiveness model comparing different scenarios for obtaining given environmental benefits
  • spatial monitoring tools measuring land use change
  • tools to measure basic environmental services at farm and watershed level (water, biodiversity)
  • model to calculate water usage by production systems.
